We attended FARMAFORUM

PERTESA had the pleasure of attending FARMAFORUM 2025, which took place on 17 and 18 September at IFEMA’s Pavilion 9 in Madrid. This forum has established itself as the leading event in Spain for the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, cosmetics, and laboratory industries, offering an increasingly ambitious and cross-cutting programme each year.

Implications for suppliers:

For PERTESA — and indeed any company involved in supplying components, PPE, industrial instrumentation, maintenance and technical services — Farmaforum sends out a clear message:

  1. Regulations and rules are becoming stricter: GMP requirements, contamination controls and external regulatory inspections (e.g. FDA, European regulations) demand increasingly high standards in terms of equipment, cleaning services, fittings, joints and PPE clothing.
  2. Secondly, a more resilient supply chain is emerging in response to previous crises, with trends such as nearshoring and geographical diversification of suppliers. The aim is to avoid critical dependencies. This has a direct impact on logistics, delivery times, transport costs and customs management. Pharmatech+1
  3. Digitisation, sustainability and operational efficiency are at the forefront, with energy optimisation, cleaner processes, new instrumental technologies, digital monitoring and waste reduction taking centre stage. Equipment that is both efficient and environmentally compliant will be in increasingly high demand.
  4. Sector specialisation is required for the veterinary, medical device, cosmetics and other sectors, as new forums emerge. Not all solutions are the same: personal protective equipment (PPE), materials and typical pharmaceutical production procedures may not be valid for other subsectors without technical adaptation.
What we took away from PERTESA

From our visit to Farmaforum 2025, we would highlight the following:

  • We had the opportunity to speak with pharmaceutical professionals about the genuine challenges they encounter in their facilities, enabling us to customise our industrial supply offerings.
  • We observed which certifications and standards are currently required (and which seem to be emerging), so that we can anticipate future product and service needs.
  • We noticed that projects combining technical innovation, regulations and sustainability are better received, which reinforces our strategy of investing in quality, collaboration and continuous improvement.
